AGE GROUP OBJECTIVES
MINI CRICKET ( Under 9 down )
Our objective with this group is to coach basic skills by introducing the players to all the various facets of cricket. Along with this we will develop general skills by means of the LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) program. Majority of our coaching sessions will be in the form of match simulations where the players will become familiar with match situations. 2 teams are entered in the WPCA Bakers Mini-cricket league. Matches are played on Saturday mornings at various centralized venues (as per fixture list). Once a player is assessed and on recommendation by the coach, he will be moved to the next group where he will be introduced to hard ball cricket. These introductions are normally made via that age group’s ‘B’ team.
